The Dance
Dance helps to bring people of all ages, cultures, and backgrounds together. Dance in itself is
a holistic form of healing community. Bring together people for a common purpose and great
things happen!
Dance is a rewarding way to move the body, exercise the mind and free the spirit!!
As the instructor, our common purpose is to teach others the joy of moving their bodies in
space. Feeling grounded and confident, belonging to something that promotes wellness from
deep within.
Exercising the body and mind to greater levels of awareness, invoking a feeling of overall
peace and wellbeing that overflows to our families and our community!
Teaching confidence and breeding success is what being a dance teacher is all about!
Stefanie's Philosophy On The Dance
DFTS philosophy is the understanding that dance allows you to express, explore, heal and
grow as a person, and in all aspects of life. To move the body gives way to intense healing and
incredible emotional growth for student and teacher. Understanding who we are will give us a
better idea of how to help others, and allows us to find and develop our purpose in life. With
this deep understanding of ourselves we are given the ability to connect and communicate
more effectively to family, promote internal healing and physically express ourselves in a safe
manner. DFTS is about reclaiming the beauty that we all possess. It is not just teaching belly
dance technique. It goes beyond the physical and teaches people how to feel comfortable and
confident, promoting dignity, respect and a deep understanding of ourselves and others.
DFTS philosophy is a three-step approach to healing. Using the physical, spiritual and
emotional/mental bodies to help heal the whole person by education, nutrition, exercise,
holistic therapy, self exploration in dance and movement, positive thought, breath, posture,
seeking the right kind of medical care and advice, and taking responsibility for yourself and
most importantly your thoughts.

body and your physical environment become!
What is self-responsibility? It is an understanding that you alone can change your situation,
your negative behaviors and tendencies into positive and productive behaviors. It is the
ability to change negative lifestyle patterns to promote a healthy, strong and satisfied
emotional/mental, spiritual and physical existence, while being a role model for others.
Self-responsibility is the ability to explore yourself on deep levels through movement, positive
thought, posturing and breath, to connect yourself verbally, emotionally and physically to your
family, friends, communities, to the world around you and God.
Using the proper breath, thought and posture with dance and movement creates a sense of
dignity in both body and mind, leading to self respect, confidence, self love (in order to give
you must first be filled), acceptance, understanding your purpose, feeling connected
spiritually and ultimately leading to success in all things.
The DFTS Method
Stefanie's DFTS Method encompasses her 3 branches of healing, and specific techniques
designed to help students of all levels find the heart of the dance with improvisation.
The DFTS Method is a specific format designed for classes while incorporating her 10 Step
Method of Texturing that builds on basic technique. These texturing techniques allow even a
beginner dancer with no previous experience to go home after their first class and move their
bodies improvisationally with confidence!
The DFTS Method is rooted in Stefanie's personal philosophy of breeding success through
adjusted posture, breath, thought patterns, and body awareness with The Dance.
